The Zillertal, one of the most popular hiking destinations, offers more than 1,000 km of hiking trails: from leisurely theme hikes & nature trails on the valley floor, to enjoyable alpine hikes from hut to hut, to breathtaking summit tours to the many 3,000-meter peaks of the Zillertal.
If you want to be more comfortable, you can take one of the 11 summer cable cars to the starting point and make it easier to get into the mountains.
Easy walks - also ideal for children:
We are happy to give you tips for your perfect mountain experience!
The new family and adventure climbing garden at the nearby Spieljoch takes children and adults on the trail of all known summit climbers. But even in the valley there are plenty of opportunities to practice climbing in summer and winter.
The "Zillertal Climbing Center" in Aschau enables climbing with all levels of difficulty up to 16 meters. Not far away, the open air "Adventure Park Zillertal" was built above the valley station of "Hochzillertal" in Kaltenbach. There, visitors can expect special challenges, 7 different courses, a via ferrata over the waterfall, Flying Fox Parcour and much more in the lofty heights between the treetops and above the waterfall.
Also the via ferrata boom of recent years has not left its mark on the Zillertal, and so the valley near ferratas in Mayrhofen, for the beginner and connoisseur of Huterlahnersteig (difficulty C) and for the ambitious climber climbing the Zimmerebensteig (difficulty D +). At the Gerlosstein there is a via ferrata which is a bit more alpine and ends right at the summit of the Gerlossteinwand (difficulty D).
